Business Development Manager

The Opportunity 

We are in an exciting stage of growth and have a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our sales team. 

This role is an integral member within the Macquarie Data Centres team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales. As a Sales Expert you will identify, develop and sign new customers to Macquarie Data Centre business. The role has direct accountability of all wholesale sales into our Data Centre Campus. The position's primary focus is to drive net new acquisitions, specifically targeting international SaaS companies, multinational Corporations and local Enterprises with significant data centre needs. The role will also be responsible for retaining and growing a small number of existing customer contracts.

What you'll do

  • Develop targeted prospect plan around select storage and compute hungry global SaaS, wholesale and MNC’s companies in the data centre ecosystem
  • Ensure effective use of the CRM and relevant client / sales / marketing systems
  • Lead RFP and RFI responses - leveraging and coordinating resources across operations, commercial, technical design and security
  • Effectively engaging with the technical and engineering team to develop and present solutions

Your ideal skills and experience

  • 8+ years of sales experience focusing on underdeveloped markets
  • Proven track record in technology sales or related industry
  • Prior experience selling Data Centre services between 100 kw & up to 750 kw is highly regarded
  • Ablility to interact directly with prospects, customers and partners in a leadership capacity
  • Proven abiblity to identify new growth strategies for increased customer
  • penetration and new customer acquisition
  • Extensive experience managing complex contract negotiations
  • Proven track record in coaching, mentoring, supporting, empowering &
  • motivating staff.
  • Ability to act as an escalation point for customer and prospect issues and takes
  • ownership of problem resolution
