The Opportunity
The purpose of the Group Security Manager (GSM) is to provide oversight of Security Governance, Information Security, Physical Security & Personnel Security for Macquarie Telecom Group by supporting each of the Business Units in their commitments and execution of their security plans and strategies.
The GSM’s primary objective is for ensuring the Macquarie Technology Group business and its trading entities security programs are functional, delivering their internal & external stakeholder security objectives and commitments including regulatory and compliance.
The GSM is responsible for supervising critical security incident investigations, developing a security conscious culture, and ensuring that the business operates in line with an appropriate risk management profile.
This role will be based in Sydney with a blended working arrangement of 3 days in our CBD offices and the remaining working from home.

What you'll be doing
- Responsible for leading, managing and guiding the Information Security compliance programs to ensure that each business achieves its objectives in their commitments to security.
- Lead & oversee the implementation of policies and procedures that meet the requirements of the Information Security Management System.
- Ensures business units are implementing effective strategies to mitigate security incidents occurring within their business unit.
- Ensures that security commitments are robust to protect MTG Information and assets.
- Provides support and expert advice to executives, management, the board of directors, internal and external clients on the development and ongoing monitoring of information security procedures and systems.
- Provide expert and strategic advice to the Executive & management teams and other MTG staff to facilitate informed decision making.
Your ideal skills & experience
- 5 + years’ hands-on Experience in Information Security domains vulnerability Management & Pentesting, cloud security and security architecture.
- 5 + years’ experience on ASD ISM / PSPF and other Global Standards such as ISO, PCI and others.
- Good Understanding of risk management framework such as ISO31000.
- Previous experience in leading information security audits and assessments and upgrades with a successful outcome.
- Good understanding of Security principles that includes physical, environmental, cable management, asset management and aid the team to achieve a desirable outcome.
- Applied experience in other global industry certifications/compliance frameworks in Information Security, Risk Management frameworks, Quality Management Systems.
- Demonstrated management of ISO, PCI SOC2 certification programs.
