The arrangements with companies we’ve used in the past were for each of the big machines. The lease terms would be that we’d pay for say 30,000 black & white, and 20,000 colour prints, and then also pay for any extras. If we only used 5,000, we’d still pay the full amount.
Now we are pay-per-click, and it’s a much better arrangement. We are not under contract to pay for a certain amount. We also know exactly the amount of print done for we are tracking the it department by department.It was a big jump to move to a new provider. But we met Solutions 4 IT and they went through everything and had a very personable approach . They laid out what they could do, how it all works, and ran an in-depth evaluation of our set-up. They are a lot more approachable and personable. I’ve met all the 1st line team and most of them were in account management.
If someone has issues with email or internet, it takes my time out totally because I have to stop what I’m doing and put everything on hold until it’s resolved. It was taking days out of my time to resolve issues.
The provider’s help desk would ask me the password for the server, or how to get into the portal which was frustrating when they are IT and they set it up in the first place. Now if I phone Solutions 4 IT and say I don’t have time to deal with it, I’m really busy and can they just sort it out, then they will. If I say it’s important, then they consider it important.We discussed what we wanted to do with Solutions 4 IT and we decided to drag ourselves kicking and screaming into the 21st Century and spend some money on a new environment, implement Office 365 and phase out our old IT. Solutions 4 IT gave us options of what we could do and we put a proposal to the board -- a cost justification. It was one of the biggest spends on IT we have made in one go. We put in place what we believe is the best option at the right price.
When Solutions 4 IT came on board, they helped increase performance from there. It’s almost as if the staff down there are here.
