The role of Microsoft Modern Work & AI Consultant is to be a senior technical and consultative resource within ITRM, specialising in Microsoft 365, Azure, Copilot, and AI-driven solutions.

This role involves owning delivery workstreams, collaborating with internal teams, and working closely with customers to understand business challenges and translate these into practical, scalable solutions aligned to ITRM’s Modern Work and AI offerings.

As a Modern Work & AI Consultant, your responsibilities extend beyond implementation. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, lead engagements across Microsoft 365 and AI technologies, and contribute to presales, solution design, and service development.

You will report to the Director of AI & Cyber Security and act as a second-in-command within this function, supporting both delivery and strategic direction.

As a Microsoft Modern Work & AI Consultant, your responsibilities will extend well beyond those of a typical consultant. You will not only deliver project-based work to enhance and optimise the customer's IT environment, but also take ownership of entire workstreams, ensuring end-to-end delivery with full technical oversight.

Drawing on significant experience within a fast-paced IT team, you will provide expert support across a broad range of technical solutions, mentor and guide less experienced colleagues, and act as a trusted advisor to customers by translating complex business requirements into effective technical strategies. Understanding business processes and how that affects efficient system use, as well as the opportunities of transformational technologies such as AI, Automation and data intelligence, will be key to the role's focus.

You will play a key role in customer engagements, contributing to the creation of statements of work, low-level designs, and comprehensive technical documentation, whilst ensuring a seamless transition of projects into business-as-usual operations. Your commercial awareness will enable you to assess the impact of scope changes and communicate implications effectively to both customers and internal stakeholders.

This is a demanding technical position, which calls for excellent customer service skills, the ability to articulate solutions clearly and confidently to end users and possess a detailed technical knowledge across a broad range of technologies.

The successful candidate will form part of the Technical Services team, leading projects, providing feedback on current processes, driving continuous improvement within the team and ultimately helping management to deliver services as consistently and efficiently as possible. In addition to this, as a Senior Technical consultant, you will also play a key role in our AI solutions and services to customers, including the definition of the service and the implementation of defined services.
