The main difference in choosing Calligo was how they sit apart from most other privacy consultants. We had the impression – and this was born out in the delivery – that the service would not be limited to auditing our processes and leaving us to interpret them and determine next steps ourselves. Nor would they simply write our privacy policies and hand us certifications. It was clear it would instead be a thorough, honest, and practical engagement, and the start of a long-term collaborative relationship.

The ultimate goal of moving to the cloud was to deliver a reliable foundation from which we could become more productive and accelerate our growth. That is exactly what working with Calligo has achieved. Our entire suite of tools is in the cloud and maintained to ensure its consistent availability, giving us capabilities that still put us beyond many of our competitors today.

Calligo now provide us with the majority of our IT services including hosted infrastructure (IaaS), Desktop as a Service, Backup and DR services. We have a very demanding, compute-intensive workload and the performance of Calligo’s cloud has impressed. Using Calligo’s CloudShield DR service we replicate between their Jersey & Guernsey clouds and are now able to demonstrate to our regulator a true disaster recovery capability. Calligo is a valued partner and we are very pleased with the overall service we have received.

Although our user base consisted of only 15 users when we moved to Calligo it was, and remains, imperative their desktops are always available and have the latest software to allow them to be productive in servicing our clients. CloudDesk provides all the elements we identified as important; highly available, cost-effective, no on-site maintenance or support required and it has scaled with us as our business has grown. Another critical factor, when considering our options, was to identify a provider that was highly committed to delivering a hosted solution. Calligo demonstrated this was at the core of their products and solutions and they gave us confidence that we would be utilising the services of an ambitious, highly motivated organisation, allowing us to be at the forefront of development in this area, now and in the coming years.
Additionally, given the nature of our business, we needed to ensure data residency governance is adhered to. As Calligo’s cloud service resides in the Channel Islands we are totally comfortable with moving our desktops into the cloud.

Calligo provided excellent pre-implementation consultancy to aid our decision. I am extremely pleased with their team’s dedication to ensuring the migration went as smoothly as possible and, since implementation, I and the users have been extremely impressed with the speed of CloudDesk, it is a great improvement on our previous physical environment. Having to no longer manage and maintain physical servers now that our applications are hosted on CloudCore is also a key benefit of moving to Calligo’s cloud offerings.

It was essential as part of our move to the cloud, to ensure our data was located in an offshore jurisdiction. Therefore, Calligo’s cloud service was a clear winner for us in our selection criteria. We now have a totally robust, secure desktop, mail and Infrastructure as Service offering that provides us both cost and productivity efficiencies as well as enabling us to focus on our core competencies and not have to worry about IT.
