Since Synoptek was taking over our entire IT function, it took time to plan how we would onboard. Once we had a plan as to how we would onboard, the support was there and our end users reaped the benefits immediately. Turnaround on tickets was rapid. Where some had been open for months, now they were closed in hours or a day or so. It’s interesting to note, that the number of tickets actually increased due to quick resolution and the trust factor to resolve.
There were a number of reasons why we selected Synoptek. One, they were regionally based so we didn’t have to depend on someone who was far away. We could travel to their operations and have conversations with people face-to-face. They were also within the healthcare industry in Colorado. There are other hospitals in Colorado that use Synoptek that have the same IT platforms as we have. We found this to be very valuable.
Synoptek has taken us to another level. We have lots of projects going on at any given time, with many ‘balls in the air’. Synoptek has a much deeper resource set than we had been accustomed to. They’re not just hosting our data and our Platformas-a-Service (PaaS) needs. We’re leaning on their Managed Service group to help us find a whole new finance system. This is a really big deal for us.
Our relationship with Synoptek puts an entire army of very skilled, highly technical people to work in our operations without incurring the overhead of having to hire them all for this small hospital. In fact, they do everything short of dealing with end users. It’s really like having an army behind us. We can call them anytime. That’s been the key to our success.
The outsourcing of our complete infrastructure to Synoptek has contributed substantially to our ability to concentrate on our core competencies instead of getting bogged down in buying and managing servers, SANs and routers.
We had heard many negative things about outsourcing and managed services. However, we had used Synoptek as a VAR and were quite satisfied with their technical services. Our evaluation of their capabilities led us to believe that they could meet our core requirements for cutting costs while strengthening our infrastructure quality and availability.
This was an incredibly wise move. What started out as a pure cost savings strategy has not only resulted in a continuous stream of savings, but also better infrastructure and access to technical resources 24x7x365.
Synoptek Managed IT Services, remote monitoring, and management services, along with its 24×7 Help Desk services, will provide a better performing IT environment and achieve a significant cost reduction in MPMC’s IT budget. This improvement in MPMC’s IT operations permits us to now focus on providing excellent healthcare to our communities through safe, personalized and quality services.
TSI isn’t the world’s biggest company, but our IT challenges are probably unusually complex for our size. Meeting them required more than an off the-shelf solution, and Synoptek took the time and had the know-how to customize their private cloud solution to do exactly what we need. Now we don’t have to think about anything. They handle everything, including web requirements and SQL databases, and now we have an IT infrastructure that gives us the ability to expand quickly, which we really never had before.
